Zero Semester
The concept of a “Zero Semester” aims to assist individuals interested in pursuing undergraduate programs such as Diploma, associate degrees, and Bachelor’s (4-year) programs, where applicable. This option is specifically designed for candidates who possess the required qualifications or degrees but fall short of the minimum academic criteria, with less than 45% marks or a CGPA lower than 2.0 out of 4. By enrolling in the “Zero Semester” and successfully meeting the specified completion requirements, these candidates can subsequently become eligible for admission into their desired undergraduate programs.
Duration
It is a one-semester (18-week) program.
Eligibility
Applicants who have attained the specified qualifications or degrees required for admission but have obtained less than 45% marks or a CGPA below 2.0 out of 4, as per the relevant criteria, are eligible to be considered.
Course(s) exemption is not permitted.

Assessment of Study Progress
The evaluation of student’s academic progress is based on continuous assessment throughout the semester, including assignments, online quizzes, Graded Discussion Boards (GDBs), and mid-term and final-term exams. The mid and final-term exams are conducted at VU’s designated exam centers and typically account for 80-85% of the total marks for a course.
Completion of the Zero Semester
The candidates will need to successfully complete all the designated courses within a single semester and achieve a minimum semester GPA of 2.00 out of 4.

- Students participating in the Zero Semester will be required to follow the University’s rules and regulations.
- Zero Semester for Undergraduate Programs, once qualified, will be valid for all subsequent admissions in the appropriate program.
