VU Signed an Addendum with NTC to Upgrade Their Bandwidth
The Virtual University of Pakistan has signed an Addendum to increase the International Bandwidth at its owned campuses and offices throughout Pakistan, with the goal of collaborating and strengthening the strategic alliance between VU and NTC.
Engr. Ehsen Zafar Puri, Director of ICT (VUP), and Engr. Muhammad Irfan, Director of Data Networks (NTC), signed the agreement on August 30, 2023, at their Regional Office in Lahore.
Ms. Rubina Ali, General Manager of Marketing (VUP), and Engr. Amjad Ikram Khan, Director of NTC Lahore, as well as Engr. Shahid Hussain, General Manager from NTC, attended the ceremony.
Engr. Syed Naushad Y. Shah, the Focal Person for the Nationwide Fiber Deployment Infrastructure Project, collaborated with the NTC Data Communication Team to negotiate revised and reduced tariffs for fiber laying costs on a fee-for-service basis, ensuring end-to-end fiber connectivity at all VU sites in the best interests of the University.
This agreement will pave the way for the growth of high-speed Internet connectivity across the country, which is critical for e-learning and distance education.
