VU Course Selection Announcement – Fall 2023 Semester

Fall 2023 Semester

(VU Course Selection Announcement – Fall 2023 Semester)

The “Course Selection” link will be active/available in VULMS beginning Tuesday, October 3, 2023, under the “Student Services” menu. Students are recommended to log in to their VULMS account and select their course(s) as soon as possible or before the semester begins.  However, the deadline for adding/dropping course(s) is Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Tuition fee vouchers issued after this date are not subject to revision.

Note:

  1. Pre-selected courses are assigned to newly admitted students who are enrolled in the first semester of their respective study program. On the other hand, students enrolling through the BS Entry Route may choose their courses accordingly.
  2. Existing/continuing students must make the above-mentioned course choices. If a student fails to enroll in any course(s), he or she will be considered an “INACTIVE STUDENT” for the semester, and punishment will be enforced under the “Semester Freeze Rules.”
  3. Limits on course/workload (Credit Hours) have been established and published separately for each study program in the “Course Selection Rules” section of the supplied “Student Handbook.” Before selecting a course, students must carefully study the rules.

Guidelines:

      • Students are expected to adhere to the “semester-wise study scheme” of their study program to maintain their scholarship eligibility (See Scholarship Rules).
      • Enrolling in the maximum number of courses/workloads in each semester does not imply that a study program can be finished sooner than the minimum stipulated residential requirement.

4. Course Before enrolling in an advanced level course, you must first enroll in and qualify for Basic/Introductory courses. As a result, said guidelines must be observed with caution when choosing a course.

5. Students enrolled in Spring 2018 / Fall 2018 / Spring 2019 are NOT permitted to make course selections because they have used up their maximum time duration as well as their grace period to complete their study program.

6. Students with blocked VULMS (due to non-payment of fees) will be unable to make course selections until they pay their outstanding fees and activate their LMS accounts by the Accounts Department.

7. Policy on Grade Improvement A student can improve a course in which he or she received low grades at any time by following the Course        Selection Rules for each program contained in the Student Handbook. In this instance, he or she must repeat the improvement course(s)         in the next semester(s) where such course is offered.

Guidelines:

      • Course(s) that fail can be repeated until the student is qualified.
      • A higher/better grade in a course will replace the previous/lower grade and eventually raise the CGPA.  However, if the grade does not improve, the previous better grade will be retained and used to calculate the CGPA. According to the University’s policy on grade enhancement. A student may repeat once in any following semester the course(s) from the preceding semester(s) in which he/she received the lowest grade only, before completion of the whole coursework program and mark pass out.

Declaration:

I thus acknowledge that I have read and fully comprehended the preceding regulations and standards, including course selection, scholarship, and Semester Freeze rules, among others. I realize that I will be held accountable for any violations of those regulations and hence pledge to follow the University’s rules as they change.

Students who have questions or need assistance with course selection can send an email or call.
