Admission Document Requirements
Candidates who meet the basic admission requirements for degree/diploma programs must provide the following documents:
- Three copies of Valid CNIC or B Form
- Three Photographs of the applicant (Passport Size with Blue Background)
- Three attested copies of Matriculation or equivalent marks sheet or certificate.
- Three attested copies of intermediate or equivalent marks sheet/ result card or equivalent.
- Three attested copies of Bachelor’s detail marks sheet /Result card/ Final transcript with all parts/ or equivalent that are official.
- Scanned documents with clear readability
- Equivalence Certificate from IBCC and HEC in case the applicant has A / O Level Certificates and Foreign Degrees as applicable
- For applicants seeking admission through the General Route based on credit transfer or course exemption, the following documents are required: course contents, NOC (No Objection Certificate) from their previous institute, and an incomplete result card if they are using it to demonstrate their qualifications.

Admission of Overseas Pakistani Students
Overseas Pakistani students living abroad may apply for admission to the Virtual University of Pakistan via the online admission link/portal. Once the application is submitted, a hard copy of the admission form should be dispatched to the Admission Office in Lahore using postal or courier services for further processing and confirmation of admission.
Admissions of Foreign or Dual nation
For foreign or dual national students seeking admission to the Virtual University of Pakistan, the University will offer admission only after completing the necessary formalities and receiving confirmation from relevant offices, such as HEC or vetting agencies. Criteria for Admission
- Admissions will commence on the dates provided above.
- Admission applications for the spring 2023 session will not be accepted based on Hope Certificates.
- Applicants are required to submit their admission form and required documents in hard copy (three sets) at the selected Campus of the University by the deadline stated in the Admission Schedule. The University will only process admission applications of those who do so.
- Please ensure that all uploaded documents in the system are readable and have been scanned and uploaded according to the provided instructions.
- Applicants with ‘A’ Levels or foreign diplomas/degrees must provide an equivalency certificate from a recognized authority from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) in Islamabad to be considered for admission. (http://www.ibcc.edu.pk/)
- Candidates who are currently enrolled at VU with regular admission status must cancel their old admission before submitting a new admission application.
- Applicants are expected to ensure that they have not provided false information, misstatements, or bogus documents. The University reserves the right to take strict action, including blacklisting a student or confiscating fees or degrees, at any time in such cases.
- Applicants are required to submit the fee for only one study program. If an applicant submits fees for multiple programs, the University reserves the right to cancel the admission for one or all of the programs and confiscate the deposited fee.
- The University will not accept admission forms that are submitted after the due date.
- It is important to note that incomplete admission forms will be rejected and to avoid any inconvenience, applicants should carefully upload and send complete sets of readable documents.
- Applicants are required to upload official transcripts or result cards issued by the concerned Board(s)/Universities. Please note that online transcripts or result cards will not be accepted.
Criteria for Admission to Merit-Based Program
- Applicants who wish to apply for admission to Biological Programs (BS Bioinformatics, BS Biotechnology, and BS Zoology) must include their preferred Lab choices when submitting their admission application forms. Merit for these programs will be determined on a Lab-wise basis.
- Successful candidates for Biological Programs will be selected based on their merit and the results will be made available on the university website.
- Upon selection, successful candidates must ensure that they submit their fees within the time frame specified in the Admission Schedule for spring 2023 to secure their admission.
Criteria for Course Exemptions/ Entry Route
- The University’s Equivalence Committee will assess applications for course exemptions by reviewing the applicant’s academic record from the past 14 years of education

- The Equivalence Committee’s decision will be conveyed to the applicants through email.
- Candidates applying for admission through Course Exemption, Entry Route, or Need-Based Scholarships are required to fill out the respective form(s) provided as part of the admission application. Incomplete admission forms without filled forms for Course Exemption or Need-Based Scholarships will not be considered and will be processed as normal admission applications.
Attention
- The programs of BS Psychology, BS Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, and Zoology, as well as Diploma in Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics, are not open to international applicants. Overseas applicants may consider exploring other academic programs that are available to them.
- The admission form will not be considered if there is a discrepancy between the CNIC information provided and the official records.
- Zero Semester does not apply to the following programs:
- MS Computer Science
- BS in Zoology, English (Applied Linguistics), Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, and Mathematics.
- ADP Database Management System, Computer Networking, Web Design and Development, Education, Computer Science, Early Childhood Care,
