Virtual University Overseas Admission

Foreign or dual nationals who are currently living in Pakistan or abroad can apply for admission at virtual University. They need to possess an understanding of both the English and Urdu languages, which are widely used for instruction, communication, and academic purposes in virtual universities.

The virtual university has divided  the admission criteria overseas into three categories which are as under.

1. Foreign National Residing Within Pakistan

These candidates must obtain the No Objection Certificate (NOC) certificate issued by the Higher education commission of Pakistan. The HEC grants NOC to foreign national students who are living in Pakistan for educational purposes to complete the formal requirements of admission and visa processing under the intimation to the Ministry of Interior.

Documents Requirement

These Foreign National candidates are required to submit directly or courier the following documents to the virtual university after applying for Online admission

  1. Five appropriately filled out and signed copies of the HEC student information sheet.
  2. Two attested copies of Visa and Passport
  3. Two attested copies of Proof of Nationality
  4. Five attested copies of the Afghan Refugee Card (if applicable)
  5. Two sets of all educational documents
  6. HEC or IBBC equivalence in case of foreign qualification/ degree.
  7. Admission Application Form Number filled and submitted Online.

After the University receives the completed documents mentioned above, the details will be forwarded to the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, and other concerned agencies for approval. Afterward, a hard copy of the admission offer letter and VU identity card will be dispatched to the student’s registered address.

The procedure of getting NOC to Foreign Students from HEC

The International Student Office of the respective university should be responsible for initiating the request for NOC. The application directly submitted by a Foreign student will not be accepted by HEC.

2. The Admission of Foreign Nationals Residing Abroad

The procedure of admission for foreign nationals who are residing abroad is the same as a dual nation who are residing in Pakistan can apply through an online link, and these students can also have an understanding of the English and Urdu medium.

The documents required

  1. One attested copy of Proof of Nationality
  2. A declaration that he /she will not demand any letter from the University for the issuance of a Pakistan visa. However, during a visit to Pakistan, the examination will be taken by him/her only at the university-designated exam center.
  3. If you have a foreign qualification or degree, you may need to obtain equivalence from HEC or IBBC

3. virtual university admissions for Overseas Pakistani

The admission for those Pakistanis who are living abroad for job purpose and who want to gain a higher education in this sense the virtual university support such students in gaining their higher degrees. As per the latest data, VU has over 2,000 overseas students, who are enrolled in its various programs. This figure is growing steadily every year. Most of the overseas students come from Middle Eastern countries, followed by African, Asian, and European countries.

The virtual university also offers a range of services to its overseas students including online counseling, online exams, and online tutorials. These services help students to stay up-to-date with their studies, thus enabling them to achieve success in their academic pursuits.

Virtual University Programs for Overseas Students

The university extends its academic programs to overseas students, but the programs of BS Psychology, BS Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Zoology, and Diploma in Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics are not open to overseas applicants.

Virtual University Fee Structure for Overseas

Virtual University strives for affordable and accessible fees for overseas students, based on the credit-hour system. Regular reviews and updates ensure a competitive and affordable fee structure.

Virtual University Overseas Exam System

Virtual universities conduct exams for both local students and overseas students. Similar to local Pakistani students, overseas students also have the flexibility to create their exam schedules based on their convenience. However, the date sheet for overseas students is only available in Pakistan standard time and date, as announced by the university on the date sheet portal.

When it comes to taking the exams, overseas students are required to log in to their exams portal according to the date sheet and Pakistan standard time. There are additional protocols in place for overseas students’ exams. These protocols may include having a separate or dedicated room for the exam, ensuring an internet connection is installed, using prescribed software for the exam, and having two cameras for visual monitoring of the student during the exam. These measures are put in place to ensure the integrity and fairness of the exam process for overseas students.

 Admission Documents Requirement

  • Three copies of Valid CNIC or B Form
  • Three Photographs of the applicant (Passport Size with Blue Background)
  • Three attested copies of Matriculation or equivalent marks sheet or certificate.
  • Three attested copies of intermediate or equivalent marks sheet/ result card or equivalent.
  • Three attested copies of Bachelor’s detail marks sheet /Result card/ Final transcript with all parts/ or equivalent that are official.
  • Scanned documents with clear readability
  • Equivalence Certificate from IBCC and HEC in case the applicant has A / O Level Certificates and Foreign Degrees as applicable

For applicants seeking admission through the General Route based on credit transfer or course exemption, the following documents are required: course contents, NOC (No Objection Certificate) from their previous institute, and an incomplete result card if they are using it to demonstrate their qualifications.
