Diploma in Public Administration

The Diploma in Public Administration is a program that has been created with the primary goal of developing individuals who can effectively handle the challenges faced by public-sector organizations. This program is particularly beneficial for individuals with a variety of educational backgrounds, including business graduates, non-business graduates, doctors, engineers, and other specialists who are currently working in public-sector organizations or who intend to pursue higher education in the field of Public Administration without prior knowledge.

The program is designed to equip students with a deep understanding of the principles and practices of public administration. They will learn about the various aspects of public-sector organizations, including their structure, functions, and operations. Students will also be exposed to the latest theories and practices in the field of public administration, including topics such as organizational behavior, public policy, public budgeting, and public management.

 

BS Public Administration

This diploma program is particularly useful for those seeking to pursue a career in public organizations, such as government agencies or non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The program will provide them with the necessary knowledge and skills to become effective public servants, able to manage the affairs of public-sector organizations in a responsible and efficient manner.

  • Ensuring that graduates of the program are well-prepared to meet the contemporary challenges facing public-sector organizations and make a meaningful contribution to public service.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/ADP) or equivalent qualification from an HEC-recognized university/institution, and a minimum of 45% marks or a CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.
  • Candidates with less than 45% marks can be admitted after completing the “Zero Semester“.

Course Exemption

Course exemption is not allowed for this program.

Degree Duration

The program is structured as a one-year course, comprising two semesters with each semester having a duration of 18 weeks. Each semester consists of five courses.

Assessment of Study Progress

The evaluation of student’s academic progress is based on continuous assessment throughout the semester, including assignments, online quizzes, Graded Discussion Boards (GDBs), and mid-term and final-term exams. The mid and final-term exams are conducted at VU’s designated exam centers and typically account for 80-85% of the total marks for a course.

Award of Diploma

To receive the Diploma in Diploma in Public Administration, students must complete a minimum of two semesters of coursework, consisting of at least 36 credit hours, and achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.
