Diploma in Education

The Diploma in Education program is structured to provide comprehensive training to individuals who aspire to become teachers or are already working in schools. The program focuses on developing and refining their pedagogical skills by imparting the latest techniques in classroom management, assessment, and evaluation. By acquiring these skills, prospective and existing teachers will be better equipped to create effective learning environments that promote student engagement and academic success.

Throughout the program, students will learn about the most current trends and practices in teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and educational psychology. They will also be introduced to innovative strategies for engaging students, promoting critical thinking, and fostering a love of learning.

Objectives

  • Introduce teachers to different learning models, enabling them to incorporate a constructive teaching approach in their classrooms.
  • Provide teachers with the knowledge and skills to employ formative and summative assessment techniques to enhance and monitor student understanding.
  • Introduce different pedagogical approaches for teaching a range of subjects in elementary schools.

Eligibility

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institute with a minimum of 45% marks or a CGPA of 2.00 out of 4. Those with less than 45% marks can gain admission after successfully completing the zero semester.

Course Exemption

Course exemption is not available for this program.

Duration

The course is designed to be completed over one year with two-semester, each semester has at least 18 weeks.

Assessment of Study Progress

The evaluation of students’ academic progress is based on continuous assessment throughout the semester, including assignments, online quizzes, Graded Discussion Boards (GDBs), and mid-term and final-term exams. The mid and final-term exams are conducted at VU’s designated exam centers and typically account for 80-85% of the total marks for a course.

Award of Diploma

In order to receive the Diploma in Education, students must complete a minimum of two semesters of coursework, consisting of at least 31 credit hours, and achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.
