Diploma in Computer Science

Associate Degree Program in Computer Science

Curriculum Targets

  • Demonstrate a basic comprehension of computer science principles and theories.
  • Demonstrate basic proficiency in computer science applications, tools, and programming skills.
  • Pursue advanced education in the field of computer science.

Admission Eligibility

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institute with a minimum of 45% marks or a CGPA of 2.00 out of 4. Those with less than 45% marks can gain admission after successfully completing the zero semester.

Course Exemption

This program is not allowed course exemption.

Degree Duration

The program is structured as a one-year course, comprising two semesters with each semester having a duration of 18 weeks. Each semester consists of five courses.

Assessment of Study Progress

The evaluation of student’s academic progress is based on continuous assessment throughout the semester, including assignments, online quizzes, Graded Discussion Boards (GDBs), mid-term and final-term exams. The mid and final-term exams are conducted at VU’s designated exam centers and typically account for 80-85% of the total marks for a course.

Award of Diploma

To receive the Diploma in computer science, students must complete a minimum of two semesters of coursework, consisting of at least 30 credit hours, and achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.
