Diploma in Accounting

The Diploma in Accounting program has been specifically developed to provide students with a thorough understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices. This program is intended to benefit those already employed in the accounting field by helping them enhance their skills and knowledge, which will improve their professional competencies.

The program is also suitable for individuals looking to start their careers in the accounting field and wishing to gain a strong foundation in bookkeeping. By completing this diploma, students will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to maintain accurate financial records, understand basic accounting principles, and prepare financial statements.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/ADP) or equivalent qualification from an HEC-recognized university/institution, and a minimum of 45% marks or a CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.
  • Candidates with less than 45% marks can be admitted after completing the “Zero Semester“.

Course Exemption

Course exemption is not allowed for this program.

Degree Duration

The program is structured as a one-year course, comprising two semesters with each semester having a duration of 18 weeks.

Assessment of Study Progress

The evaluation of student’s academic progress is based on continuous assessment throughout the semester, including assignments, online quizzes, Graded Discussion Boards (GDBs), and mid-term and final-term exams. The mid and final-term exams are conducted at VU’s designated exam centers and typically account for 80-85% of the total marks for a course.

Award of Diploma

To receive the Diploma in Diploma in Accounting, students must complete a minimum of two semesters of coursework, consisting of at least 36 credit hours, and achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.
