Associate Degree Program in Human Resource Management

The Associate Degree Program in Human Resource Management is intended for individuals who have completed 12 years of education and are interested in pursuing a career in human resource management. This program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of basic management and business principles and a strong foundation in human resource management’s key concepts and functions.

The program’s objective is to prepare students for entry-level positions in the HR department of an organization. To achieve this goal, the program covers various topics related to human resource management, including recruitment and selection, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, and performance management. The curriculum also includes business communication, computer applications, and professional development courses.

Associate Degree Program in Human Resource Managemen

Upon completion of the program, students will have gained the knowledge and practical skills necessary to work in organizational settings. They will be equipped with a basic understanding of management principles and will have a solid foundation in the key concepts and functions of human resource management. This program will be prepared to work as human resource assistants, recruiters, or generalists in a variety of organizations, including businesses, non-profit organizations, and government agencies.

Eligibility

12 years of Education, a minimum of 45% marks, FA/FSC/ICS/I.COM

  1. Candidates who have completed ‘A’ levels must provide an equivalence certificate from the Inter Board Committee of the Chairman in Islamabad.
  2. Candidates with less than 45% marks can be admitted after completing the “Zero Semester“.

Degree Duration

This program is a two-year full-time course, divided into four semesters, each semester has at least 18 weeks for teaching and examinations.

Assessment of Study Progress

Student’s academic progress is assessed continuously during the semester through assignments, online quizzes, Graded Discussion Boards (GDBs), midterm exams, and final exams. The midterm and final exams, which make up 80-85% of a course, are managed at the locations of the virtual university’s designated exam centers all over Pakistan and overseas.

Project or Internship

  • Students must complete a Final Year Project of 3 Credit Hours. Students must consult their advisor before selecting a final project. They must submit a written report and may be asked to present it.
  • Internship course students must complete a 6 to 8-week internship in an organization and obtain an internship letter from that organization. Currently employed students are exempt from the internship requirement but must submit a project.

Degree Awarded

In order to be awarded an Associate Degree in human resource management, a student must complete at least 66 credit hours of coursework with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 out of 4.
