This program is designed to equip students with the necessary skills to develop and manage databases using the latest tools and techniques.

During the program, students will learn about Database Modeling and Design, Oracle 11i Database Programming, Web-based Database Applications, Programming Techniques, Information Security, and advanced concepts such as Cloud-based Applications, Visual Programming, and Big Data Concepts. This degree program prepares students for a dynamic and exciting field, where professionals are in high demand.

Associate Degree Program in Database Management System

Candidates who hold an Associate Degree can either continue towards their respective four-year Bachelor of Computer Science (BS) degree program, or they can apply for new admission to any four-year BS degree program (subject to meeting admission eligibility criteria and exemption/transfer of relevant qualified courses as per policy).

Objectives

  • To learn the fundamentals of processing data and information.
  • To learn about the crucial role that database management systems play in organizations and gain knowledge in fundamental and advanced database concepts, such as the relational data model’s structure and workings.
  • To obtain practical experience and technical proficiency in the areas of database development, maintenance, administration, and information security.
  • To develop practical skills in web-based database development, including front-end development, design, and connecting databases.
  • To acquire foundational and advanced knowledge about the system development process, including different modules and techniques.

Admission Eligibility

  • To be admitted to the associate degree Program, applicants must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in their Intermediate (Part I and II)
  • Deficiency courses: Students who did not pass Mathematics at the required (Intermediate) level mentioned above point can apply, but they need to complete two additional 6-credit hour Mathematics courses in the first two semesters.
  • The General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) O levels and School Certificate (SC) exams are equivalent to Matriculation, and grades in 6 subjects are considered.
  • Additionally, the GCE ‘A’ level candidates are required to have passed 3 subjects and must provide an equivalence certificate from Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC), Islamabad.

Course Exemption

This program allows course exemption.

Degree Duration
