Associate Degree in Business Administration

The Associate Degree in Business Administration is a standard two-year degree program that aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to jumpstart their professional careers. The curriculum is designed to equip students with a solid business administration and management foundation, including courses in accounting, economics, marketing, finance, and operations management.

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired in a practical setting. They will be well-prepared to start their professional careers in various business settings, including small and large organizations, non-profit organizations, and government agencies.

Associate Degree in Business Administration

Moreover, the program offers a pathway to further education, such as a bachelor’s degree in business administration or related fields. This degree can also serve as a stepping stone towards pursuing more advanced business degrees, such as a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or a Ph.D. in business.

Objectives

  • To equip students with a solid foundation in business administration and management
  • To provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to start their professional careers in various business settings
  • To enable students to apply their understanding of accounting, economics, marketing, finance, and operations management in practical settings
  • To prepare students to pursue further education, such as a bachelor’s degree in business administration or related fields

Note:

Candidates who hold an Associate Degree can either continue towards their respective four-year Bachelor of Computer Science (BS) degree program, or they can apply for new admission to any four-year BS degree program (subject to meeting admission eligibility criteria and exemption/transfer of relevant qualified courses as per policy).

Eligibility

12 years of Education, minimum 45% marks, FA/FSC/ICS/I.COM

  • Candidates who have completed ‘A’ levels must provide an equivalence certificate from the Inter Board Committee of the Chairman in Islamabad.
  • Candidates with less than 45% marks can be admitted after completing the “Zero Semester“.

Degree Duration

This program is a two-year full-time course, divided into four semesters, each semester has at least 18 weeks for teaching and examinations.

Assessment of Study Progress

Student’s academic progress is assessed continuously during the semester through assignments, online quizzes, Graded Discussion Boards (GDBs), midterm exams, and final exams. The midterm and final exams, which make up 80-85% of a course, are managed at the locations of the virtual university’s designated exam centers all over Pakistan and overseas.

Project or Internship

  • Students must complete a Final Year Project of 3 Credit Hours. Students must consult their advisor before selecting a final project. They must submit a written report and may be asked to present it.
  • Internship course students must complete a 6 to 8-week internship in an organization and obtain an internship letter from that organization. Currently employed students are exempt from the internship requirement but must submit a project.

Degree Awarded

In order to be awarded an Associate Degree in Business Administration, a student must complete at least 66 credit hours of coursework with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 out of 4.
