The primary goal of this initiative is to ensure that IT graduates possess the essential skills, knowledge, and attributes required to thrive in the rapidly evolving IT industry.

Collaboratively spearheaded by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and key stakeholders such as the Ministry of IT and Telecommunications, National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC), Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), and Pakistan IT Industry Association (P@SHA), this program aims to bridge the gap between the IT industry and academia. It strives to enhance the market readiness of IT students through an academia-industry co-opt program.

Scheduled for January 7, 2024, the centralized test targets enrolled students in the 7th semester of computing-related disciplines across recognized public and private sector universities and affiliated colleges through the Virtual University (VU) of Pakistan. Interested students can register via the VU portal at

https://www.vu.edu.pk/GraduateTest/ until December 31, 2023.

Successful candidates from the test will secure placements in various IT companies, including leading IT exporters in Pakistan, facilitated by P@SHA. This opportunity allows them to gain hands-on experience in real-time projects. Additionally, qualifying candidates may receive an exemption of up to six (6) credit hours in the 8th semester, applicable to electives or mandatory field experience. The industry placement program is set to commence in Spring 2024. Upon completion, candidates with commendations will have their credentials showcased on PSEB and P@SHA portals, expanding their visibility to a wide array of IT companies and potential job offers.
